Runway Review:India Fashion Week Dubai 16!

India Fashion Week Dubai held at Jumeirah CreekSide Hotel,Dubai on 22&23 July.it is the best platform for the designers of subcontinent to showcase their latest collection to the international fashion market.

Held in September 2014 for the first time successfully and got very good response from the global fashion world.Season 2 held in June 2015, where IFWD returned as a better and even bigger fashion event. Season 3 held in December 2015 which was again a big hit and took IFWD to one of the World’s leading fashion shows. Returned with season 4 this time and again got very good response.

This successful event was organised by Dream Advertising & Ministry of Events.

ARCHANA KOCHHAR:

Beautiful collection of cocktail gowns, skirts with ruffle and layers paired with crop tops. used color palette like white, yellow, black,and shades of red. very modern and edgy collection.hottest Sunny Leone and Sara Loren walked the ramp for Archana Kochhar.

Aquarians by Heena Modi:

Elegant stylish collection! voluminous and layered gowns in grey silver and gold color palette, mostly in  banarsi jamawar and organza fabric.

MONA SHROFF:

jewellery designer from Hong Kong showcased her contemporary jeweler collection. the theme and feel of her show was very young and peppy and managed to grab the attention of the audience .Sara Loren walked the ramp for Mona Shroff.

MARIA B:

Dreamy and Beautiful Swarovski embellished collection with her signature color palette of maroon ivory and few bright colors.mostly traditional bridal lehangs were showcased with few formal jackets with cut out pants.

MOTIFZ:

Well Known design house from Pakistan showcased their crinkle chiffon collection.Loved the way they blend their Eastern embroidery with modern cuts, famine collection and giving the feel of a Royal garden

Husna Qureshi:

super glamours collection in Bright Shiny fabric and modern cuts. there’s nothing wrong if i call it luxury bohemian look collection.

Arabee:

An attention grabber collection with the perfect blend of East and West. floral embroidery in gold with beautiful color palette of navy/light blue and green and more.

Farrukh Mian:

Farrukh Mian presented his modern collection with latest trendy cuts in silk and lace fabric.

LineAge:

presented their ethic collection looks like inspired by Rajastani culture  in beautiful color palette of yellow, red, orange and white with delicate gotta work and floral embroidery

Desire:

Desire by Almas Hamirani showcased their traditional formal collection with mostly long shirts with embroidered tulip pants and sharara’s. Gold and Royal Blue were the main colors of this collection.

Tejas P.Gandhi:

Amazing collection with so much verity of colors cuts embroidery. Ruffle long skirts with off shoulder sequin tops, sequins long jackets with plain lehengas. 3D floral gowns and traditional lehnga choli with modern cuts.they gave us such a huge collection,not just this we loved the beautiful look of models with floral headpieces.

Shagun Nagi:

Another lovely collection with latest trendy cuts,short embroidered jackets /crop tops with long skirts and heavily embroidered capes paired with culottes are few of our favorites.

Ilaichi:

Like its name very Unique collection.long structured jackets with delicate floral embroidery paired with voluminous skirts/lehengas. loved the neatness of embroidery. overall very rich and Royal collection.

Pink peacock Couture by Masumi Mewawalla:

pink couture sealed the Grand finale with their amazing bridal collection.with beautiful color palette of pink,blue,red and more. we loved the blend of contemporary cuts with traditional embellishments and embroidery. Designer managed to grab the attention of audience and gave them a fresh feel with the touch of vintage but modern charm.

Runway Report:India Couture Week 2016

I think a bride must look like princess and more important herself on her special day, over the top look for a bride is not In any more! checkout The Best of India Couture Week2016 specially for the brides to be and upcoming fashion designers.

MANISH MALHOTRA:

The event started off with the breathtaking collection of couture King Manish Malhotra inspired by the Persian designs with the title Persian Story!! He managed to take us back to the Persian rulers time. modern cuts with beautiful shades of maroon,blue and green. what grab my attention were the cuts and designs of blouses.

Fawad Khan and Deepika Paukone walked the ramp as a showstoppers for Manish Malhotra. Fawad looked like a Prince of Persia in a black long jacket with maroon tunic.Loved Deepika in this heavy gold embroidered red lehenga.

TARUN TAHILIANI:

Beatuiful collection “The Last Dance Of The Courtesan” by Tarun Tahiliani. super glamours collection with crystals,pearls with mostly floral embroidery.here i would like to say something about the theme,it  was all about rich nawabs visited kothas in old times to see the courtesans. male models wore Tarun’s cream nawabi collection as young nawabs while female models wore voluminous lengas, saris( drape style) hair bun with flowers on one side totally courtesan inspired look.( loved the theme more than collection)

ANITA DONGRE:

Showcased her beautiful collection Epic Love. Bright collection with luxury bohemian feel for young brides.prints are inspired by Mughal era (floral prints) we are in love with the color palette of this collection! purple,blue,rust beautiful shades of red. Dabka and gotta patti is used in this Ethnic collection.

REYNU TAANDON:

Kamangiri by Reynu Taandon inspired by Rajastani rich heritage. beautiful color palette of red,gold, green and orange with block prints and handcrafted foil printing.

Divya Khosla walked the ramp for Reynu Taandon. loving her small plain blouse with heavily embroidered lehenga with gotta work.her big nose ring and rajastani tikka is to die for.

RIMPLE HARPREET NARULA:

Titled “Hirayat”inspired by Khalil Gibran (writer) in which he shows us the transition from day to night in his color palette which went from beige to midnight blue. we are in love with this collection from the color palette to the beautiful embroidery every thing is just perfect. white with dull gold embroidery,royal red and blue with gold detailing has won our hearts.

Yami Gautam walked the ramp for Rimple Harpreet Narula. wearing this beautiful heavily embroidered royal blue lehenga but still looking so delicate and elegant.

RAHUL MISHRA:

Monsoon Diaries by Rahul Mishra. perfect collection for modern brides who don’t want to wear typical colors and embroidery.he used mostly organza and Georgette with natural earthy tones. entire collection is handmade and it took four months and 250 karigars to complete it.

ANAMIKA KHANNA:

Titled “When time stood still” very modern collection with 3D petals and the touch of traditional dori,pearl and zardosi work. loving the sharars and long structured  jackets. not just the embroidery and cuts the color palette she used was fantastic too from ivory to pastels ,red and powerful black .(Jewelry by Amarpali jewels).

VARUN BAHL:

Vintage Garden by Varun Bahl. collection is inspired by colorful flowers, kept the flower motifs light weight which is looking like an art work.mostly pale pink,light blue, cream base and few red and black outfits.very delicate collection perfect for modern brides.(Jewelry by Khanna Jewellers).

Scape song by Gaurav Gupta.contemporary and futuristic collection with layers and ruffles .used vintage shades of grey, green,blue,pink.very modern and edgy collection for modern brides.

MANAV GANGWANI:

Begum-e-Jannat by Manav Gangwani inspired by Mughal Era. used a jewel color palette like ivory,black,navy blue,maroon and green. voluminous layered lehengas with beautiful embroidery.  it was tribute to his Kashmir born late friend Zainab Nedou Patel

The Queen of bollywood Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp for Manav Gangwani collection. She looked like a true Mughal Queen in mirror work choli paired with heavily embroidered lehenga. beautiful jewelry is completing her Mughal Begum look.

ROHIT BAL:

Kehkashaan by Rohit Bal. the collection is inspired by Russian empire in Asia and East Europe. Rohit combined the Russian and Kashmiri designs and used rich velvet fabric with gold embroidery.capes and bejeweled collars are giving very royal look.( jewelry by Shiri Ram Hari Ram jewelers,they created handcrafted pieces for Rohit)

Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Resort 2016

Hey Everyone!

Here i’m with Lakme fashion week updates, awesome Indian designers showcased their spring/resort 16 collection at The St.Regis, Mumbai. designers like Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Anita Dongre, Monisha Jaising and many more showcased their collection. i noticed strong edgy cuts,flowing silhouettes,flowy garments.designers used lots of sheer fabric without revealing too much skin and trendy  prints.Lets have a look…

1- Quirkbox  showcased their beautiful collection titled “This is not fashion-This is art”. lovely pastel shades,nudes with floral motifs.(personal favorite)
